Steve Shurter is a seasoned conservation professional with extensive experience in wildlife management and conservation initiatives. Currently serving as Executive Director/CEO at White Oak Conservation since March 2013, Steve oversees a 7,500-acre wildlife conservation and conference center, focusing on endangered species breeding, education, research, and land stewardship. As Director at White Oak Wildlife Conservation Center since April 2012, Steve has continued to lead efforts in education, training, and field conservation. Previous roles include Director of Conservation at White Oak Conservation Center, Director of International Programs at Gilman International Conservation, and Director of Animal Management at the Wilds. Steve's career in conservation began in 1987, highlighting a longstanding commitment to preserving threatened wildlife and habitats through various programs across multiple organizations.
