Margaret Moffett

Margaret comes to Whiteboard Advisors with a passion for storytelling and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of education. She helps clients share their message by researching topics; interviewing educators, philanthropists and other stakeholders; then crafting crisp op-eds and whitepapers. A former journalist, she spent 25 years covering government, education and philanthropy. During that time, she won 20 awards for her work, including the Green Eyeshade Award from the Society of Professional Journalists; a first-place award from the national Society for Features Journalism; and the Senator Sam Open Government Award from the N.C. Press Association. The daughter of community college instructors, Margaret is an adjunct journalism professor at the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at UNC-Chapel Hill. She graduated cum laude with a B.A. in English from UNC-Greensboro, where she also earned a master’s degree in English.
