Cecil Maccannon, Jr.

Cecil Maccannon, Jr. has a long history of working in the software engineering and development field. Cecil began their career in 1985 as a Member Technical Staff at Bell Labs Lucent Technologies, where they acted as a Development Lead, Software Developer, System Tester, and Customer Support Engineer for various telecommunications products and services. In 2000, they worked as a Contributing Engineer at SER Solutions, performing Object Oriented Design and Development on telecom related products and leading a team to design a multimedia Customer Relationship Management (CRM) product. From 2002-2003, they worked at Cubic Defense Applications as a Software Engineering Lead and Manager, developing and maintaining applications in the area of Modeling and Simulations (M&S) of weapons effects and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). From 2003-2005, they worked at Harris Communications as a Senior Software Engineer, performing as a Lead Developer, Cross Functional Development Team Lead, and Configuration Manager for several projects supporting intelligence community clients. From 2005-2006, they worked at RABA Technologies as a Principal Consultant, and from 2005-2009 at SRA International as a Senior Software Architect. Here, they supported US Coast Guard (USCG) as a Professional Services Engineer for Composite Software and advised, designed, and developed solutions for the customer to evolve existing applications to a Services Oriented Architecture that allowed for enhanced information sharing among government entities. Since 2011, Maccannon has been working at Whiteboard Federal Technologies as a Principal Software Engineer.

Cecil Maccannon, Jr. began their educational journey by graduating from Stuyvesant High School in 1982 with a Regents HS Diploma. Cecil then attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1982 to 1986, earning a BS in Computer Engineering. Cecil continued their studies at Brown University from 1986 to 1987, graduating with an MS in Computer Science. In 2007, Cecil obtained a Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance, and in 2013 they earned a Cloudera Certified Developer for Apache Hadoop (CCDH) from Cloudera.
