Jean-Philippe Buffet

Jean-Philippe Buffet has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. Jean-Philippe started their career as an Etudiant en master at Institut Pasteur, where they conducted research on the diversity and ecology of strains belonging to the bacterial species Listeria monocytogenes. Jean-Philippe also gained technical skills in molecular biology, microbiology, and bioinformatic tools for nucleic sequence analysis.

Following this, Buffet worked as a Doctorant, PhD student at Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort, conducting research in collaboration with Merial, UMR 7204 of Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, and Institut Pasteur. Their research focused on Bartonella and Ticks, and they worked under the supervision of Dr. Muriel Vayssier-Taussat.

Buffet then joined Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) as a Post-doctoral fellow in the Groupe de Recherche en Microbiologie Environnementale. Jean-Philippe worked under the supervision of Pr. Claude Guertin and co-supervisors Pr. Eric Déziel and Pr.

Next, Buffet worked as a Chercheur postdoctoral at the Museum national d'Histoire naturelle in the UMR BOREA. Jean-Philippe was supervised by Dr. and conducted research in the field of genomics.

Most recently, Buffet held the role of R&D Project Manager at WhiteLab Genomics, starting in November 2018.

Jean-Philippe Buffet started their education in 2006 at Institut Catholique d'Etudes, where they earned a Licence in Sciences de la Vie with a mention in Biologie des Organismes. From 2007 to 2009, they attended Université Pierre et Marie Curie, where they obtained a Master's degree in Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire with a specialization in Microbiologie parcours Bactériologie. During the same period, they also earned a Master 2 (M2) degree in Biologie moléculaire from Pierre and Marie Curie University. Jean-Philippe continued their education at AgroParisTech from 2009 to 2012, obtaining a Doctorate degree in Biologie Moléculaire et Microbiologie and Industries du Vivant et de l'Environnement.
