Katie Boleware

Katie Boleware, LICSW, is a dedicated psychotherapist currently engaged with Whitman-Walker, employing trauma-informed modalities such as somatic experiencing and EMDR to support clients in achieving their goals. With prior experience as a Youth and Young Adult Trauma Therapist at the DC Rape Crisis Center, Boleware provided individual counseling and facilitated group sessions using trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and somatic methods. As the Crisis Helpline Program Coordinator for the Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault, Boleware established a statewide crisis text and chat Helpline and trained support specialists in trauma-informed advocacy. Additional roles include offering support as a Support Specialist at RAINN, serving as a Counselor at the New Orleans Family Justice Center, and managing AmeriCorps volunteers as a Site Director. Boleware holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Tulane University and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Education from Warren Wilson College.
