Katherine Simon

Katie Simon has extensive experience in the field of education, particularly in working with the deaf and hard of hearing community. Currently serving as the Teacher of the Deaf at Whitney M. Young Magnet High School since November 2012, Katie also held the position of National Board Facilitator at Illinois State University from June 2017 to May 2021. Previous roles include Developmental Therapist - Hearing for the State of Illinois from October 2009 to February 2014 and Teacher at Mental Health & Deafness Resources, Inc. from December 2006 to November 2012. Katie holds a B.S. in Deaf Education from Illinois State University and multiple endorsements and degrees related to teaching, including a Master's Degree in Teaching & Learning with an emphasis in Best Practice and a Master's Certificate as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Auditory Oral Specialist.
