Alex Simao currently serves as the Associate Medical Director for Adult Medicine at the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center since September 2023. Previously, Alex worked as a Family Medicine Physician at Circulo Health/Huddle Health from November 2022 to May 2023, and as a Family Physician at Hometown Health Centers from August 2019 to November 2022. Alex began medical training as a Family Medicine Resident at Ellis Medicine from July 2016 to June 2019 after completing a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Alex also holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University at Albany and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a Pre-Medical Concentration from the College of the Holy Cross. Early career experiences include roles as a Research Assistant and Summer Intern at Schenectady County Public Health Services, a Graduate Research Assistant at the New York State Department of Health, and an AmeriCorps Member & Patient's Benefits Coordinator at the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program.
