Director Of Communications at Whitney Museum of American Art

Ashley Reese has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and arts. Ashley is currently serving as the Director of Communications at the Whitney Museum of American Art since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Assistant Director of Communications at the same museum from February 2022 to November 2022. Ashley also worked as a Senior Public Relations and Digital Content Specialist at the Smithsonian American Art Museum from 2018 to March 2022. In addition, they have held various roles at different organizations, including the Weekend Admissions Supervisor at The Phillips Collection, Law Clerk at the Library of Congress, Tutor at The George Washington University Law School, Legal Intern at the Peace Corps, Development Intern at the Smithsonian Institution, Government and Federal Affairs Intern at Americans for the Arts, and Gifts Associate at The White House.

Ashley Reese attended Lake Ridge Academy, a K-12 College Preparatory school. Ashley then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, Art History, Fine Art, and Dance at The George Washington University from 2009 to 2013. After completing their undergraduate studies, Ashley attended The George Washington University Law School from 2014 to 2017, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with a focus on Intellectual Property Law. In 2018, they furthered their education at Harvard University, earning a Master's Degree in Liberal Arts with a specialization in Museum Studies in 2019.
