Whitney Museum of American Art
Joshua Lubin-Levy serves as the Director of the Center for the Arts and a Visiting Assistant Professor in Curatorial Practice at Wesleyan University, where additional roles include Interim Director of the Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance. As Editor in Chief of the Movement Research Performance Journal and a Senior Joan Tisch Teaching Fellow at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Joshua engages deeply with various facets of the arts. A PhD candidate at NYU, scholarly interests encompass New York's 1960s Avant-Garde, Jack Smith, experimental film, video, and performance, as well as queer performance and postmodern dance. Joshua's curatorial work includes significant contributions at the Institute for Arts and Civic Dialogue and past lectureships at The New School and Bard College, along with leadership roles at Abrons Arts Center and MoveOpolis. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Performance Studies and a Master's degree, both from NYU, along with a BA from Wesleyan University.
