Linda Oubre

Linda Oubre, EdD, MBA has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Linda is currently the President Emeritus at Whittier College since July 2023, having previously served as the President from July 2018 to June 2023. Prior to that, Linda was the Dean of the College of Business at San Francisco State University from July 2012 to July 2018.

Linda has also held significant leadership positions at various institutions, including being the Executive Director of Corporate Relations and Business Development/Chief Diversity Officer at UC Davis from February 2011 to June 2012, the President & CEO of LSO Ventures from January 2003 to January 2011, and the President & COO of BriteSmile, a start-up teeth whitening spa business, from May 1998 to July 2003.

Linda has also been engaged in academia, serving as a Lecturer at San Diego State University from January 2007 to June 2009 and as an Exec in Residence/Adjunct Professor at UC Davis from September 2002 to May 2004.

Earlier in their career, they held managerial roles at well-known organizations such as the Los Angeles Times, where they were the General Manager of New Business Development from July 1992 to February 1996, and The Walt Disney Company, where they served as the Director of Operations for Disney Consumer Products Division from September 1990 to July 1992, and as a Manager of Financial and Strategic Planning for Disney Consumer Products from December 1988 to September 1990.

Throughout their career, Linda Oubre has demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, teaching, and managerial expertise, and has made significant contributions to the educational, business, and start-up sectors.

Linda Oubre, EdD, MBA received their Doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained their MBA from Harvard Business School, specializing in General Management, from 1982 to 1984. Linda completed their undergraduate studies at UCLA, earning a BA in Economics with Cum Laude honors from 1976 to 1980.
