Whittier Union High School District
Emmett Brock is an experienced educator and advocate with a strong background in teaching and youth support. Currently serving as a Resident Substitute Teacher at Whittier Union High School District since April 2022, Emmett maintains a positive classroom environment and assists students academically. Previously, Emmett held the position of Director of Operations at Calvary by the Sea Lutheran Church, where efforts were focused on LGBTQ+ initiatives and organizing community-centered events. Additionally, Emmett worked as a Youth Advocate at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, providing support and guidance on social justice issues and employment opportunities for youth. Earlier roles include serving as a College and Career Advisement Specialist and Academic Tutor at Whittier Union High School District, where Emmett coordinated college fairs and supported students in their academic endeavors. Emmett holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Sociology at California State University, Fullerton.

Whittier Union High School District is made up of five comprehensive high schools, one continuation school, one alternative studies program, and one adult school. Whittier Union High School District is located approximately 10 miles southeast of the heart of Los Angeles. It comprises some 41.65 square miles.
