Juan Nuñez

President, Florida Region at Whole Foods Market

Juan Núñez has spent his career in natural and organic foods beginning with Mrs. Gooch’s Natural Foods in California in 1982. He has been with Whole Foods Market since 1993 when the company acquired Mrs. Gooch’s, where he was regional operations director. He has held various positions with Whole Foods Market, including store team leader, director of store operations in the Southern California Region, and vice president of the Southwest Region. He has served as president of the Florida Region since 1998, helping grow it from three to 26 stores; a bakehouse; a regional office; and a distribution center with an adjoined produce facility.

Núñez, a father of three was born in Tocopilla, Chile. He attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 1977-1981and has a BA degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Thomas University of Miami Gardens, FL. He is currently the company’s senior-most regional president. He also serves on the board of directors of the Whole Kids Foundation and on the advisory counsel for the dean of the Andreas Business School at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. He has been named a Whole Foods Market Global All Star three times and has received three honorable mentions.
