Wayla J. Chambo is an experienced music professional currently serving as the Assistant Program Director for WHRO 90.3 Classical since June 2014, where responsibilities include directing programming, overseeing staffing, and planning on-air fundraisers. Additionally, Wayla hosts and produces the afternoon classical music program and has previously coordinated community events and operations for the station. With a diverse background in performance and education, Wayla has also been a self-employed weekend classical radio host and flutist since 1999, providing private flute lessons and performing in various capacities. Wayla's academic credentials include a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of North Texas and advanced degrees in Flute Performance from the California Institute of the Arts and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
