Michael McDuffee has a strong background in software engineering, with experience at various well-known companies. Michael started their career at Microsoft as a Software Design Engineer in Test from June 2007 to March 2009. Following this, they joined Boeing Satellite Systems as a Software Engineer 2 - User Interface Systems from May 2009 to December 2012. McDuffee then worked as an Android Developer at ReverbNation, where they developed native Android applications for the music industry, integrated tools from Facebook and Google APIs, and developed location-aware Google Maps apps. Michael joined Facebook as a Software Engineer in December 2013 and remained there until July 2015. From July 2015 to November 2016, they worked at Uber as a Senior Software Engineer. At Stripe, McDuffee was a Software Engineer from November 2016 to November 2017. Michael then joined Lyft as a Software Engineer, where they worked on the frontend of Lyft's experimentation and data platform tools. Michael also contributed to the development of the in-car and in-app experiences for autonomous vehicle programs. Since June 2020, McDuffee has been working at WhyLabs as a Senior Frontend Engineer.

Michael McDuffee has a diverse education history. Michael completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Business at the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they attended the University of Pennsylvania from 2002 to 2007, where they earned a MSE degree in Computer and Information Science and an M.Phil degree in Mathematics. Their undergraduate studies were conducted at North Carolina State University from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained both a BS and MS degree in Mathematics.

In addition to their formal education, Michael McDuffee has also obtained two certifications. Michael completed the Deep Learning Nanodegree program at Udacity in July 2019 and the Natural Language Processing Nanodegree program in May 2019.
