Brett Alten serves as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Chief IP Counsel at Hewlett Packard Enterprise since July 2017. Previous roles include Associate General Counsel - Intellectual Property at Tesla, Deputy General Counsel - Head of Intellectual Property at SolarCity, and Head of Intellectual Property at Dropbox. Brett has extensive experience in patent development and enforcement from a tenure at Apple, along with prior legal experience at Morrison & Foerster LLP and Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Fordham University School of Law, a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Arts in Physics from the same institution, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Clark University.
