Juan Carlos Zúñiga currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at Wi-Fi Alliance and holds the position of Distinguished Engineer at Cisco, focusing on Global Technical Standards, Strategy Incubation, and Applications. Zúñiga is co-Chair of the MAC Address Device Identification for Network and Application Services (MADINAS) Working Group at IETF and also co-chairs the Internet Area Working Group, where efforts concentrate on Internet Protocol address space issues and privacy at layer 3. Previous roles include advisory positions for the 5G-EV H2020 project and the 5Growth project, leadership roles in standardization and regulatory strategy at SIGFOX, and significant contributions to innovations in 5G networks while at InterDigital Communications. Zúñiga’s educational background includes a Master’s degree in Communications and Signal Processing from Imperial College London and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical-Electrical Engineering from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
