Charles Wu

Senior Partner at WI Harper Group

Charles is a Senior Partner of W.I. Harper Group. He has over 30 years of extensive experience in investing and operating. Prior to joining W.I. Harper Group in 2015, Charles was vice president and managing director at IBM Corporation. He was the founder and Managing Partner of IBM China Investment Fund. Previously, he was general manager of the software group and e-business at IBM and an executive member of the IBM Management Committee. Before he was appointed general manager of IBM East and Central China in 1994, Charles was a founding member of IBM business consulting and IT outsourcing services groups in the US. He started his career with IBM as a systems engineer.

Charles is actively involved in civic and community activities. He served as Senior Advisor to City of Shenyang Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, executive board member of E-Commerce China Forum, Committee Member of City of Shanghai e-Commerce Committee, chairman of The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees, International School of Beijing, and Asian American MultiTechnology Association Cradle Program executive mentor to start-up entrepreneurs.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Houston. He also completed Harvard Business School Executive Education on Venture Capital & Private Equity and Wharton Business School Executive Education on Joint Ventures.
