Edward Liu

Edward Liu is a Partner at WI Harper Group. He has sourced investments in RWDC Industries, Synthego, YesHealth, Space Cycle, Qualaroo, Bitmark, Mobile QB, Embark, Gen G, WAT Cocktail, Xola, Bounce.io, and currently represents WI Harper on the board of XW Labs, YesHealth, Space Cycle, Amwise, Gen G, Ecoinno and Health2Sync. Edward is actively involved in WI Harper’s seed initiatives and fundraising activities, he also manages the Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund II with Joe Tsai of Alibaba.

Prior to joining WI Harper, Edward was Head of China Operations at The Piacente Group, a full-service investor relations and financial communications consulting firm. Previously, he worked as Director of Investor Relations at Xinhua Finance (TSE:9399), a diversified financial services company based in Shanghai and Beijing. Prior to that, Edward was the Director of Investor Relations & Corporate Development at Linktone Ltd (NSDQ: LTON), a leading provider of wireless interactive entertainment products and services in China. He has also worked as a Credit Analyst and Associate at Silicon Valley Bank (NSDQ: SIVB) in Santa Clara, California, where he co-managed a $100m portfolio of venture-backed, early-stage technology, and life science companies and consulted on financing structures, compliance, and banking services.

Edward has many years of experience in deal structure and strategy, risk management, commercial banking, and investor relations. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of San Diego and has an MBA from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Edward is also a member of Citi Private Bank’s NextGen class of 2011 and donates regularly to his favorite non-profits, The Nature Conservancy and Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
