Josh Pan

Josh Pan has over 15 years of work experience in a variety of roles. From 2003-2004, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University, where they conducted research in molecular plant virology and acquired competency in several molecular biology techniques. From 2004-2006, they worked as a Research Assistant II/Lab Manager at OHSU | Oregon Health & Science University, where they outfitted an empty laboratory space with research equipment and negotiated contracts for new laboratory equipment. From 2006-2013, they worked at the University of Washington, where they held the roles of Commercialization Fellow, Business Development Officer, and Partner Relations Manager. In these roles, they consulted with start-up teams, evaluated and assessed commercial potential of emerging technologies, and developed commercialization strategies. From 2013-2015, they worked at CoMotion, The W Fund, and WiBotic Inc. in various roles. From 2015-2017, they worked at S-Phase Ventures as a Principal and at Athira Pharma in various roles including VP, Corporate Development, Senior Director of Business Development, and Director of Business Development. In 2017, they were the Interim Chief Operations Officer at The W Fund.

Josh Pan completed their Bachelor's degree in Science Chemistry and Forensics Science from Oregon State University between 2000 and 2004. Josh then studied abroad at Lancaster University in 2002-2003, focusing on Chemistry. In 2006, they began their PhD studies in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Washington, which they completed in 2012. During this time, they also earned an MBA and Master's in Business Administration from the University of Washington Bothell School of Business between 2009 and 2011.
