Kevin S. Budge

Kevin brings to his clients years of insurance defense and medical malpractice defense legal work. He has tried cases to verdict/judgment and has a strong record of successfully defending health care providers in alleged professional negligence matters.

Kevin is the Co-Chair of the firm’s Medical Malpractice Defense Practice Group and has extensive experience representing hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers in all areas of professional liability, focusing on large, complex damage exposure matters such as birth trauma, delayed diagnosis of cancer, and wrongful death. He has significant experience defending physicians and health care providers in Department of Public Health investigations, inquiries, and administrative proceedings. Kevin has unique experience in claims management, setting reserves, and valuing cases. He also counsels health care providers in managing risks and limiting liability.

Kevin is also the Chair of the firm’s Client Services Delivery Task Force, which leads the firm’s commitment to legal-process management and improved efficiency in the delivery of legal services.

Before joining Wiggin and Dana in 2001, Kevin was in private practice, concentrating on insurance defense, personal injury defense, and commercial litigation.

Kevin received his J.D. from Western New England College School of Law. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut. Kevin is admitted to practice in Connecticut and the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the New Haven County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association,
