Tonje Hagen Geiran

Tonje Hagen Geiran is an Associate/Special Adviser at Wikborg Rein's Oslo office. She is part of the firm's Energy and Renewable team. Tonje has been working with environmental and climate law for more than 20 years, and has broad expertise from both public and private sectors.

In Wikborg Rein Tonje advises clients in environmental and sustainability law, including the EU taxonomy and reporting and disclosure obligations. Both compliance and company strategy work in the area of sustainability is part of her expertise. Tonje also advises in CCS projects.

Before joining Wikborg Rein this year, Tonje was responsible for all matters related to sustainability in HeidelbergCement Norway (including other Group companies). She headed initiatives related to several sustainability and ESG activities, including the assessment of the company's EU taxonomy alignment. ESG reporting and disclosure obligations was a substantial part of her responsibility, together with following up EU ETS commitments. She also worked with pollution permits and other environmental obligations. In addition, she contributed in the carbon capture project at the cement facility in Brevik.

Tonje has worked in the Ministry of Climate and Environment for many years, both as a specialist and leader. She has worked with a broad range of sustainability topics such as climate, pollution, renewable energy, waste and circular economy. Tonje has contributed in processes related to legislative proposals, white papers and propositions to the Parliament. She has cooperated with many public bodies over the years, and may assist in contact with public authorities.
