Jonathan Fraine

Jonathan Fraine is an accomplished director and research scientist with extensive experience in engineering and data science. Currently, Jonathan serves as the Director of Engineering and Co-Head of Software Development at Wikimedia Deutschland e. V. Since August 2022, Jonathan has been leading diverse teams to develop open-source products that manage vast amounts of free knowledge data. Concurrently, as a Research Scientist at the Space Science Institute since November 2018, Jonathan specializes in applying machine learning to astrophysical calibration and quality assurance. Previous roles include Head of Engineering at AssistMe, Technical Workshop Coordinator at City AI, and Computer Vision Engineer at Rassi Engineering, among others. Jonathan holds a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Maryland and has multiple degrees in physics and applied mathematics from the University of Central Florida, showcasing a robust academic background.
