Mark Bailey

VP, Data at Wildcat Discovery Technologies

Dr. Mark Bailey is the Vice President – Data of Wildcat Discovery Technologies. Mark has over 15 years of experience in energy research, where he developed a passion for creating hardware and software tools that make research more efficient.

Mark joined Wildcat at the companies founding and was jointly responsible for the creation of high throughput workflows in gas sorption and batteries. After 5 years, he left to help start Kinestral Technologies where he developed their Informatics system and helped to create their high throughput electrochromic window workflow and to identify suitable electrode materials. Subsequently, Mark was a consultant in materials informatics and machine learning before returning to Wildcat in his current role.

Mark completed his Ph.D. in Solid State Chemistry at Cornell University, under the supervision of Professor Frank DiSalvo. His Ph.D. research focused on the synthesis and characterization of new nitride materials. Following his Ph.D. Mark worked as a Glen Seaborg postdoctoral fellow at Argonne National Lab under the guidance of Dr. John Mitchell. Mark has obtained approximately 20 publications and patents in his career.
