Tianyu Meng has worked in various roles since 2012. In 2012, they were a Laboratory Technician (Intern) at Topship Chem, Inc. In 2013, they were an Engineering Technician (Intern) at Boda Chemical Engineering, Inc. During this time, they operated factory manufacturing machines and conducted products quality control. From 2012 to 2019, they were a Student Assistant at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. During this time, they collaborated with a local hospital to synthesize medically used low hardness and high hardness polyurethane, and synthesized polypropylene glycol and isocyanate for the preparation of polyurethane. From 2019 to 2022, they were a Battery Engineer at Bioenno Power, where they designed and formulated novel solid-state polymer-ceramic composite electrolyte and 3D-networking electrode for solid-state lithium-ion battery, designed experiments for evaluating electrolyte, electrode and battery performance, and identified degradation mechanisms. Tianyu also developed testing standards for battery and its components including electrochemical and material characterization. Currently, they are a Senior Research Associate at Wildcat Discovery Technologies.
Tianyu Meng began their education in 2010, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2014, majoring in Material Science and Engineering/Polymer/Plastics Engineering. Tianyu then attended The University of Akron, earning a Master of Science (M.S.) in Polymer/Plastics Engineering/Material Science and Engineering in 2015. Tianyu is currently a PhD Candidate at The University of Akron, studying Polymer/Plastics Engineering.
