Ulises Medina has a diverse work experience. Ulises began their career in 2009 as a Customer Service Specialist at Office Depot, where they were twice awarded Employee of the Month and three times awarded the Bravo Award for outstanding teamwork. In 2011, they worked as a Hazardous Waste Lab Assistant at Environment, Health and Safety - UCSD, where they received training in injury and illness prevention, laboratory safety principles, laboratory hazards, radiation safety and hazard communication. In 2013, they worked as a Research Assistant at Meyer's Materials Science Research Group - UCSD, where they assisted in the research of the mechanical properties of nano crystalline titanium. From 2014 to 2021, they worked at Wildcat Discovery Technologies as a Laboratory Technician, where they scaled up electrode material synthesis, optimized slurry formulation recipes for different battery materials, and conducted material characterization. In 2018, they also worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Ionic Materials, Inc. and as a Cell Engineering Technician at Tesla.
Ulises Medina has a diverse educational background. Ulises completed their Master of Science in Engineering from San Jose State University in 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Nanoengineering from UC San Diego in 2014. Ulises also attended Southwestern Community College from 2008 to 2011, where they studied Engineering and earned a General Studies degree. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including an ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditing Workshop from Quality Support Group in 2021, an ISO 9001:2015 Foundation - Quality Certification from Quality Support Group in 2020, and a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from GREATER BOSTON MANUFACTURING PARTNERSHIP, INC.
