Ye Zhu

Cell Development Director at Wildcat Discovery Technologies

Ye Zhu has worked in the scientific field since 2005. Ye began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University, where they developed methodologies for the chiral alcohols, 1,3-hydroxy,methyl chirons, alpha-methyl-beta-hydroxyl-gama-methyl chirons and alpha-methyl-γ-amino acids synthesis via iridium catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenations. Ye also applied the developed methodologies in the syntheses of polyketide-derived natural products, and finished the total synthesis of complex natural products like (S,R,R,S,R,S)-4,6,8,10,16,18-hexamethyldocosane, (-)-dihydromyoporone, (-)-spongidepsin, and (-)-invictolide.

In 2011, Ye Zhu began working at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, and also began a Postdoctoral Research Scientist role at Argonne National Laboratory. Ye then moved to Wildcat Discovery Technologies in 2014, where they have held the roles of Senior Principal Scientist, Principal Scientist, Lead Scientist, and Scientist.

Ye Zhu obtained a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from Nanjing University between 1998 and 2005. Ye then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry from Texas A&M University, which they completed in 2011.
