Theo de Ruijter

Theo de Ruijter is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in compliance, risk management, and IT leadership. Currently serving as a member of the supervisory board and chairman of the audit committee at Wilde Ganzen since August 2022, Theo has also held multiple key roles at Achmea since 1998, including Chief Compliance Officer, Director of Change Management, Director of Solvency II, and Director of Group IT. In these roles, responsibilities have included the comprehensive implementation of Solvency II across the Achmea Group, overseeing architecture and security, as well as managing IT programs. Prior to Achmea, Theo worked as a Manager Audit at Ernst & Young. Educational qualifications include a Certified Compliance Professional designation, a postdoctoral degree in accounting from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and an economics degree from the University of Amsterdam. Further professional education includes programs at Behavior Change Academy, IMD Lausanne, Business Learning Frankfurt, and the Dutch Compliance Institute.
