Nicholas Lauria has a diverse work experience in the fire protection industry. Nicholas began their career as the Fire Chief for the City of Cripple Creek, CO in 1993, where they served until 2007. Nicholas then became the Fire Chief for the Northeast Teller County Fire District from 2007 to 2010. Lauria worked as a Fire Inspector and Wildland Coordinator for the Divide Fire Protection District from 2010 to 2013. From 2012 onwards, they joined Wildfire Defense Systems, Inc., starting as a Program Manager/Executive Fire Officer before progressing to Senior Program Manager/Executive Fire Officer, Director of Service Delivery, and finally Vice President of Service Delivery. Nicholas'scurrent role at Wildfire Defense Systems, Inc. is as the Chief Fire Operations Officer/Vice President of Operations, where they lead and manages a team focused on safety, exceptional service, partnerships, and innovation.

Nicholas Lauria began their education in 1986 at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they studied Chemical Engineering. Nicholas completed their studies in 1990. Later, in 2004, they attended Pikes Peak State College and pursued a degree in Fire Science, which they completed in 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Nicholas obtained several certifications related to firefighting and fire safety. These include certifications such as Fire Inspector III - Plans Examiner and Fire Officer III Executive Fire Officer, which they obtained in November and March of 2007, respectively. Nicholas also became a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators in January 2007. Other certifications include Fire Instructor I, HAZMAT Operations, Uniform Fire Code Inspector, Fire Suppression System Inspector, and Firefighter II, all obtained between 1996 and 2006.
