Carlos Rittl is an accomplished professional in public policy and environmental conservation, currently serving as the Director of Public Policy for Forests & Climate Change at the Wildlife Conservation Society since August 2023. Previously, Carlos held positions as a Senior Trade and Environment Expert at the International Trade Centre and International Policy Adviser at the Rainforest Foundation Norway. Carlos has extensive experience in climate policy, having led the Climate Observatory in Brazil as Executive Secretary and coordinated the Climate Change and Energy Programme at WWF - Brasil. Additionally, Carlos has worked as a Climate Change Adviser at the British Embassy in Brasília and contributed to environmental initiatives with various organizations, including Greenpeace. Carlos holds a PhD and MSc in Tropical Biology and Natural Resources from the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia, and a BSc in Public Administration from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas.
