Lisa Bernier has had a diverse work experience. Lisa started their career as a Licensed Hairdresser in 1982, specializing in coloring and building strong relationships with their customers. In 1996, they worked as a Retail Associate at Mohegan Sun, where they sold their quilts and other Native American art. From 1997 to 2000, Lisa served as an Administrative Assistant for the Mohegan Tribe, handling various duties in the social service field, including working with special needs individuals and assisting in drug and alcohol rehab. In 2013, they pursued their passion for quilting and started their own business called My Heart Quilting, where they designed and made quilts, especially focusing on Native American designs and refurbishing antique quilts. Currently, Lisa works as a Sales Representative at Wildtree Herbs, Inc., where they are involved in sales activities. Throughout their career, Lisa has always prioritized their role as a mother and advocate for their two special needs young adults and has found it both challenging and rewarding.
Lisa Bernier has a diverse education history that includes a Certificate in Business Office Skills Update from Quinebaug Valley Community College. Lisa attended the college from 2009 to 2012, where they specialized in this particular field of study. Prior to that, Lisa studied at Norwich Regional Vocational Technical School from 1979 to 1982, earning a degree as a Licensed Hairdresser and Cosmetologist. During this period, their focus of study was Hair Styling/Stylist and Hair Design.
