James Miess

James Miess has worked in the biotechnology field since 2013. James began their career as a Biotechnology Project Technician at Salt Lake Community College, where they worked as a project lead and technician at InnovaBio Contract Research Organization. James then moved to Great Basin Scientific in 2015, where they worked as a Research Associate 1 developing qPCR based molecular diagnostics. In 2017, they joined BD as a Quality System Specialist I in the Adverse Event Group, where they reviewed product complaints and failures and filed the correct correspondence with the FDA if a complaint was determined to be FDA reportable. Later that same year, they joined PolarityTE as a Cell and Tissue Manager and Tissue and Molecular Laboratory Specialist within the research and development department. Their primary responsibility was to work with the Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Directors to develop and carry out assays to evaluate the biological characteristics and the effectiveness of the regenerative skin product, SkinTE. In 2022, they joined Wildtype as a Senior Research Associate.

James Miess obtained an Associate's Degree in Biotechnology from Salt Lake Community College and a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology from Utah Valley University. James also holds a Certificate of Completion of BioNetwork Biomanufacturing Boot Camp from NC BioNetwork.
