Marjorie Pierre-Merrit is the Corporate VP, Corporate Secretary & Chief Governance Counsel at Wiley. Marjorie has held this position since August 2006.
Previously, Ms. Pierre-Merrit served as the Associate General Counsel, Assistant Corporate Secretary at Dun & Bradstreet from August 2003 to August 2006. In this role, they were responsible for the preparation and filing of all SEC periodic reports, Sarbanes-Oxley and NYSE compliance, and the management of the Board meeting process. Marjorie also advised the Treasury department on credit agreements and other matters, advised Investor Relations and Communications on SEC related matters, and supervised and advised contract managers in areas including intellectual property, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
From January 2001 to August 2003, Ms. Pierre-Merrit worked as Counsel at The New York Times.
Ms. Pierre-Merrit has also served as Principal at MPM Governance LLC and as Associate General Counsel, Corporate Affairs at Warner Lambert (now Pfizer). Marjorie was with Warner Lambert from March 1997 to August 2000. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP from January 1993 to December 1997.
Ms. Pierre-Merrit began their career as a Certified Public Accountant at Arthur Andersen & Co., where they worked from January 1987 to December 1990.
Marjorie Pierre-Merrit holds a Doctor of Law from New York University School of Law and a Bachelors of Business with a concentration in Accounting from Baruch College, where they graduated magna cum laude.
