Stefan Baier

Stefan Baier, Ph.D., is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in food science and innovation. As the Founder and CEO of PlaFooTex Consulting LLC since September 2022, Stefan focuses on assisting companies in the consumer packaged goods, small and medium enterprises, and start-up sectors to innovate food and beverage products with an emphasis on texture and mouthfeel. Holding the position of Adjunct Associate Professor at The University of Queensland, Stefan also serves as an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Texture Studies and has held numerous leadership roles, including Chief Science Officer at Aqua Cultured Foods and Head of Food Science & Technology at Bühler Group. Previous experience includes significant contributions at Motif FoodWorks, PepsiCo, and Cargill, emphasizing innovation in food oral processing, alternative proteins, and pioneering research in rheology and tribology. Stefan holds a Ph.D. in Food Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, alongside multiple degrees and experiences in related fields.
