WaiChing Sun

WaiChing Sun is currently an Associate Professor at Columbia University and serves as the Editor of the International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering. With a strong research focus on multi-physical mechanical processes and multiphase materials, they enhance predictive capabilities in various applications such as geological carbon sequestration and hydrogen embrittlement in metals. WaiChing has held prior roles as a research assistant at Stanford and Princeton Universities and worked at Sandia National Laboratories as a Postdoctoral Fellow. They earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, followed by multiple advanced degrees in engineering from Northwestern University, Stanford University, and Princeton University.
