Stephen Fernandez

Stephen Fernandez, PhD, serves as a Lecturer at Wilfrid Laurier University since September 2018, specializing in User Experience Design, critical making, and disability studies, focusing on accessibility and sustainability. Responsibilities include designing inclusive course materials, supervising award-winning design research, and managing the Maker Lab. Concurrently, Stephen has been a Lecturer at the University of Waterloo since January 2012, teaching undergraduate courses in rhetoric, popular culture, and digital media, utilizing blended-learning and gamification strategies. Educational credentials comprise a PhD in Digital Media and Performance from the University of Waterloo, alongside an MA and BA in English Language and Literature from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Previous teaching roles include positions at Nanyang Technological University and tutoring at Alpha Numeric Learning Centre. Additionally, Stephen served as a Corporal in the Singapore Armed Forces.
