Jeffrey Alves

Jeffrey Alves currently serves as the Incoming Chair of the Board of Directors for the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) since August 2025. Alves has held multiple academic and leadership positions at Wilkes University since January 1997, including the roles of Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Distinguished Professor of Free Enterprise & Entrepreneurship, Dean Emeritus, and Director of the Allan P. Kirby Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. Alves has also acted as Past President of ICSB and served as Editor for the Journal of the International Council for Small Business from April 2019 to August 2025. Additional experience includes positions at Elmira College as an Adjunct Professor of Management and roles in business consulting and strategic planning with companies such as Vergason Technology, Inc. and Corning Incorporated. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Finance & Small Business from UMass Amherst, alongside multiple master's degrees from Wilkes University, and a bachelor's degree from the United States Air Force Academy.
