Kayla Rooney

Kayla Rooney is a Litigation Associate at the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where she represents a number of multi-billion dollar companies in complex civil litigations, investigations and arbitrations domestically and abroad. She graduated summa cum laude from Wilkes University in 2015 and holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies, with minors in Economics, Spanish and Women and Gender Studies. During her time at Wilkes, she was an active student leader and received the Alumni Association Leadership In recognition of her contributions to the campus. Upon graduating, Kayla attended the New York University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor. She is deeply passionate about racial justice and criminal justice reform, and is preparing to begin a one-year fellowship with the Bronx Defenders in furtherance of those interests in the fall of 2020.
