Monica Garcia

Monica Garcia currently serves as the Director of Community Outreach and Engagement at the Wilkinsburg Community Development Corporation since September 2022, while also holding the position of Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Wilkinsburg School District. With extensive experience in community and educational services, Monica previously worked as the Director of Volunteer & Foster Services at Humane Animal Rescue from March 2007 to October 2020, and served as Vice President on the Board of Directors for Viva South Toledo Community Development Corporation from June 2005 to December 2007. Additionally, Monica led a team as the Director of the Incentives For Excellence program at the YWCA of Northwest Ohio from 2003 to 2006, focusing on educational initiatives for at-risk youth. Earlier roles include serving as a Kindergarten Teacher at Lake Erie Academy and a Curriculum Specialist at Adelante- The Latino Community Resource. Monica holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Northland International University, earned in 1999.
