Ben Shapiro

Ben Shapiro is an experienced network engineer and technology leader currently serving as President and former Vice President at Willamette Internet Exchange since February 2022. In addition, Ben works as a Senior Network Engineer at 4J School District, managing a complex network for over 16,000 students and 50,000 devices. Ben has a background in systems engineering at Emerald Broadband, LLC., and has contributed as a Sailing Instructor for the City of Eugene. Previous roles include Coder-in-Residence at Lane Education Service District and Assistant Winemaker at J. Scott Cellars. Ben's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Geology with a focus on Geochemistry from the University of Puget Sound and a Master of Science in Geology, specializing in Biogeochemistry, from the University of Oregon.
