Iria Nishimura has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in hospice care. Iria has held various leadership positions throughout their career. In 2000, they founded Mediscor Consulting Services and served as the owner until 2008. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as a Health Facilities Evaluator Nurse at the California Department of Public Health. Following that, they worked as the Director of Quality Assurance at Valley House Rehabilitation Care Center from 2009 to 2011. In 2011, they took on the role of Administrator at Green Valley Hospice, Inc., where they established a new hospice agency. From 2013 to 2016, they served as the Hospice Executive Director at AseraCare, focusing on the emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of patients and their families. In 2016, they became the Hospice Executive Director at First Call Hospice, where they provided community-based hospice services in the Sacramento area. In 2017, they joined Willamette Vital Health as the Chief Executive Officer, overseeing comprehensive hospice care services, pain management, and grief services.
Iria Nishimura has an extensive education history in the field of nursing. Their education began in 1980 when they enrolled at the Fairview Deaconess School of Nursing. Iria completed their studies there in 1984, earning a Diploma in Nursing. Following this, they pursued further education at the Helsinki School of Nursing from 1986 to 1988. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and also pursued a Master's degree in Health Care Administration.
