Alan Schwartz is a seasoned psychiatrist with extensive experience in psychotherapy and private practice. Currently serving as the Supervisor of Psychotherapy at the William Alanson White Institute since October 2009, Alan Schwartz also operates a private practice as a Psychiatrist since January 1997. Additionally, Alan Schwartz held the position of Editor in Chief for the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Mental Health from January 2009 to December 2013. Alan Schwartz's academic background includes a Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Pennsylvania from 1991 to 1995, a Doctor of Medicine degree from Stony Brook University obtained in 1991, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology from Binghamton University completed in 1987. Alan Schwartz further developed expertise in HIV Psychiatry during a postdoctoral fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College in 1997.
