Neil Dattani has a diverse work experience spanning various healthcare organizations and academic institutions. Neil has been employed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario since 2022, where they serve as a QI Coach and Peer Assessor. Beginning in 2023, Neil joined Toronto Metropolitan University as the School of Medicine Course Lead for Professional and Personal Development. Prior to these roles, they worked at William Osler Health System starting in 2017, holding positions such as Corporate Emergency Medicine Quality Lead, Emergency Physician, and Voting member of the Research Ethics Board. During their time at Osler, Neil also served as the ED Education Lead and EGH Emergency Medicine Quality Lead. In 2022, Neil became a Clinical Lead for the Community Paramedicine Program at the Region of Peel. Additionally, they have held teaching positions at McMaster University and the University of Toronto. Lastly, Neil has worked with Ontario Health | Santé Ontario as both a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician and a Locum Family Physician.
Neil Dattani completed their Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) degree at McMaster University from 2007 to 2010. Neil then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the University of Toronto from 2010 to 2014. Following that, from 2014 to 2016, Neil completed a Family Medicine Residency Program at the same university, earning the degree of CCFP. Neil further specialized in emergency medicine by completing the Emergency Medicine Residency Program (CCFP(EM)) from 2016 to 2017. In 2020, Neil pursued additional education in the fields of Occupational Health and Safety at the University of Toronto and Rehabilitation and Disability Management at Simon Fraser University.
