Shira Brown MD MBA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Starting in 2001, they worked as an Attending Physician at North York General Hospital until 2009. From 2003 to 2010, they served as a Locum Physician at Weeneebayko Health Authority. In 2006, they also worked as a Lecturer at the University of Toronto. In 2009, they joined Niagara Health System as an Emergency Physician and later took on various leadership positions, including Chief of Emergency Medicine and Physician Lead. Shira also served as Deputy Chief of Emergency Medicine at Welland Hospital and Southern Tier. In 2010, they became an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University. In 2012, they became the Chair of Philanthropy and member of strategic planning at Kadimah School of Buffalo. In 2013, they became a Board Member at RAVSAK. Finally, in 2021, they became a Lifetime Member at Beta Gamma Sigma, and in 2024, they will start working as a Corporate Chief and Medical Director of Emergency Services at William Osler Health System.

Shira Brown MD MBA completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at both Brown University and IE Business School from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, they pursued a residency in the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Toronto from 2001 to 2003. Shira obtained their MD degree in medicine from the University of Manitoba between 1997 and 2001. Before pursuing medicine, they earned a Bachelor of Music degree in music therapy and performance from the University of Windsor from 1994 to 1997. Shira also holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in Physical Sciences and music from the University of Manitoba from 1991 to 1994.
