Heather Harris is the Managing Director at WilliamsMarston. Heather has over fifteen years of experience in the accounting and finance industry.

Heather started their career at General Electric in 2007 as an assistant controller for Global-M&A. In this role, they provided consultation to global industrial businesses on complex and unique technical M&A matters. Heather was a member of GE’s M&A center of excellence and advised on more than 120 M&A transactions, including GE’s largest disposition (NBCU, $37B), the disposition of the Plastic’s business ($11.6B), and the Vivendi buyout ($5.8B). Heather was also responsible for the establishment and maintenance of extensive internal M&A policies. Additionally, Heather was a key stakeholder in the review of M&A-related disclosures in SEC filings.

In 2011, Heather left GE to join the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) as an Industry Fellow. In this role, Heather acted as a project manager focusing on implementation and emerging practice problems and as a consultant on others to bring an industry perspective, answering questions posed by preparers, auditors, and regulators about the application of accounting standards. Heather was a member of the revenue recognition project team and also worked on Emerging Issue Task Force (EITF) issues.

Heather left FASB in 2014 to join BlackRock as their Director of Accounting Policy. In this role, Heather was responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies for BlackRock’s business activities across multiple jurisdictions. Heather also advised senior management on the application of US GAAP and IFRS, as well as SEC reporting requirements.

Heather Harris is a highly experienced accountant with a deep knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS. Heather has a proven track record in advising senior management on complex technical accounting matters and has played a key role in the successful completion of numerous high-profile M&A transactions.

Heather Harris has an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago - Booth School of Business. Heather also has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business. In addition, Heather Harris has a Certificate in Taxation from Fordham University - Graduate School of Business Administration. Finally, Heather Harris is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
