Our school was founded in 1967 by parents who sought to establish an innovative program for their child. Their focus was on academic excellence and educational achievement. They also wished to have a program that would demonstrate the benefits of deaf and hard-of-hearing children learning alongside hearing children.

The Education and Outreach Team at Willie Ross School for the Deaf is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and educational achievement for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. The team provides a comprehensive range of supportive services including counseling, ASL specialization, speech and language teaching, and educational interpreting. They engage with the community to promote the integration of hearing and non-hearing students, coordinate outreach programs, and ensure seamless transitions from school to career through structured guidance and resources.
