Scott Farley

Co-Founder & Technical Lead at Willow Labs

Scott Farley is a Co-Founder and Technical Lead at Willow Labs. Prior to joining Willow Labs, Scott was a Team Lead at Mapbox from October 2017 to April 2021. At Mapbox, Scott was responsible for leading an engineering team in delivering best in class search experience for geographic points of interest (restaurants, parks, attractions, etc). Scott also implemented and delivered numerous significant features, including improvements to query understanding, result relevance and ranking, and deployment workflows. Prior to working at Mapbox, Scott was a Graduate Student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from August 2015 to March 2017. While at UW-Madison, they completed a masters degree in Cartography and GIS with a parallel focus in Physical Geography. Scott also designed, built, and tested a machine learning model to determine the optimal cloud computing resource configuration for a given workflow, targeted at users of ecological forecasting models.

Scott Farley received their Master’s Degree in Geography and Cartography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Scott also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Geography from the University of California, Berkeley.
