Senior Software Engineer (p.eng) at Willowglen Systems

Rizwan Qureshi has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Rizwan started their career as a Co-op Firmware Developer at Western Heritage in 2017, where they played a significant role in designing and developing a research instrument for recording magnetic susceptibility. During their tenure, they gained hands-on experience in hardware prototyping and developed software libraries and drivers in C and C++.

In 2019, Rizwan joined Willowglen Systems as a Co-op Software Engineer. Here, they performed bug fixes for their core product and developed advanced simulators for interface testing of new software modules. Rizwan also contributed to software testing activities during their time there.

Following this, Rizwan progressed to the position of Associate Software Engineer at Willowglen Systems in 2020. In this role, they developed both front-end and back-end software applications for various transit projects. Rizwan'sexpertise included JavaScript for front-end development and C++ for back-end development. Rizwan also gained knowledge and experience in industrial protocols such as OPC UA, DNP3, and Modbus.

Currently, Rizwan holds the position of Intermediate Software Engineer at Willowglen Systems, a role that they have been serving since December 2021. Rizwan'sresponsibilities have expanded, and they now mentors new and existing team members. Rizwan also generates software requirements based on the proposed solutions by Solution Architects.

Rizwan Qureshi completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Software Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Alberta from 2015 to 2020.
