Thomas C. Wilmot Jr.

Chairman & President at Wilmorite

Tom began at Wilmorite in 1970 as a project manager, became President in 1980, and has served as Chairman of the Board since 1998. He has been an integral part of the company's success throughout his career. During his tenure, Wilmorite has developed more than 30,000,000 square feet of retail, office, hotel, airport, and convention facilities in nine states. In the 1980's, as President of Wilmorite, Tom aggressively doubled the company's retail portfolio.

Tom's strategic vision for Wilmorite has lead to continued growth and diversification. He has built upon the company's past successes, while embarking on new ventures that are outside the traditional realm, such as the gaming industry and university mixed-use projects.

Under Tom's leadership, the Wilmorite team has developed, constructed and redeveloped numerous super-regional mall properties, notably: Eastview Mall, Victor, New York; Danbury Fair Mall, Danbury, Connecticut; Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold, New Jersey; and Tysons Corner Center, McLean, Virginia. Wilmorite has gained extensive knowledge over the last decade in developing and constructing casino complexes which include the Otoe Tribal Casino in Oklahoma, the del Lago Casino in Upstate New York and the Buena Vista Tribal Casino outside of Sacrimento, California.

With nearly forty years in the real estate industry, Tom has built long-term lasting relationships with professionals across the country and Canada and has been able to negotiate and overcome obstacles related to government approvals, environmental issues, community concerns, and design challenges.

Continuing in the footsteps of his father; Tom personally ensures that every Wilmorite project has a positive influence and presence among the communities in which it becomes part of.

Tom is a leading member of the Rochester community serving as a member of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce; and as a Trustee of Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Rochester, Syracuse University, and the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
