Miranda Orbach is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in literacy and social studies, currently serving as the Head of Lower School Literacy and Social Studies at The Chapin School since August 2016. In addition to roles as Head Teacher and Associate Teacher, Miranda is a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner with Wilson Language Training and actively participates as an Advocate for the Parole Preparation Project. With a foundation in doula services through DONA training and volunteering with various organizations such as JustLeadershipUSA, Miranda has a diverse background that includes teaching and coordination roles at Wesleyan University, internships with The Feminist Press at CUNY and LeeSaar Dance Company, and a strong emphasis on facilitating learning for students of varying backgrounds. Miranda is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration at Teachers College, Columbia University, building on earlier degrees from Columbia University and Wesleyan University in narrative medicine and American Studies, respectively.
