Rodney G. Strickland

Rod Strickland serves as general counsel to Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, which he joined in 1992. He advises the firm and its lawyers on a wide range of legal matters, including risk management, ethical and professional responsibility, and law firm governance.

Prior to assuming the role of general counsel in July 2022, Rod focused primarily on securities and consumer class action defense and general commercial litigation for technology companies. His practice included cases involving allegations of false advertising, violations of consumer protection and privacy statutes, unfair competition, breach of fiduciary duty, and securities fraud.

Rod has served on the firm’s Board Nominating Committee, Member Nominating Committee, Finance Committee, Associate Hiring Committee, and Education Committee.

Rod is admitted to practice in California and before several United States district courts.
